Risk Assessment is a legal requirement for any organisation undertaking Covert Operations and is a legal requirement under RIPA 2000 and to comply with Health and Safety at Work legislation. It is essential to look at all work activities that could cause harm in order to decide whether we are doing enough to meet our legal obligations. Local and Public authorities that use Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 are required to undertake Risk Assessments on Covert Sources and Covert Surveillance
